The park is located along the water near the historic district of Beaufort South Carolina. Some restaurants are conveniently located close to the park including Plums, which is a perennial favorite in the City of Beaufort SC. I ordered some of the homemade ice cream from Plums and then strolled over to the park to enjoy it.
Many Town of Beaufort restaurant guests like to come here and stroll along the edge of the water after their meal. Sometimes you get to watch the drawbridge being opened to let the larger boats pass through.

The large expanses of thick green grass are good spots for people who want to have a picnic, read, or just unwind from their daily work. Beaufort attractions are historical but also unique like this park.
The park is frequently used for festivals and it is a site where bands are often invited to perform in Beaufort SC. With the comfortable surroundings and the magnificent views of the river, this park has become one of the Town of BeaufortÂ’s most popular places to enjoy.
Kids and adults can usually be seen on the grounds playing tag, football, Frisbee or other games. The swings and benches are places for less active individuals to relax.
I think that the park is a bit too noisy, but there is not a lot that can be done because of the location. Some people complain that they find it boring unless a festival or special event is taking place. Overall, it still is a nice little retreat in the downtown area of Beaufort South Carolina.
