Welcome to www.Discover-Hilton-Head-Island.com!Full Moon and KayakingThe tides are affected by the phases of the moon due to gravitational pull between the sun, moon, and earth. When there is a full moon, the high tides are very high and the low tides are very low. Waters that may be normally fine for kayaking may not be suitable during the full moon phase because the levels will be too low. Kayaking Hilton Head waters may be treacherous during the full moon due to low water levels. |
